How to fix common issues when Auto-Scheduling

If the auto-scheduler does not give you any results there could be several reasons:

  1. Infeasible Schedule

    • Cause: The schedule is marked as infeasible when the scheduler cannot find a solution without violating the constraints you've set.

    • Example: If you enable the Minimum Seat Requirement constraint (and usually some other constraints as well), and you do not have enough people to fill all these seats. The scheduler can't fill these slots without breaking the constraint.

    • Solution: Review and adjust your constraints or add more people to your team.

Pro-tip: carefully read the various warnings and issues while configuring your constraints. Often times a user not having a specific role, or working hours not being set can lead to infeasible results.

Still having trouble finding the problem? Try auto-scheduling only one or two events to isolate the problem.

  2. Empty Schedule

    • Cause: An empty schedule might occur when no suitable team members are available to fill the required slots.

    • Note: This might be an optimal result based on your constraints and goals. However, if the Minimum Seat Requirement constraint isn't enabled, the schedule isn't marked as infeasible.

    • Solution: Consider enabling the Minimum Seat Requirement constraint or reassess the availability and constraints of your team.

  3. Schedule Generation Failure

    • Cause: This message indicates an error during schedule generation. The reasons can vary.

    • Immediate Action: Soon provides a "session ID" with each attempt. Share this ID with our support team for assistance.
