What happens after you let the Auto-Scheduler generate a schedule.

After you click the 'Start Solver' button, the Auto-Scheduler begins calculating a schedule based on your optimization goals and selected constraints. Upon completion, several outcomes are possible:

  1. The schedule is Ready for Review:

    • The scheduler has found a solution. Click "Review" to enter Edit Mode, where you'll see purple boxes with names in your events, representing people the scheduler suggests adding.

    • To accept the schedule, click the green checkmark in the bottom left.

    • If you disagree with some suggestions, you can remove or modify them in Edit Mode.

    • If you're unsatisfied with the proposal, click the red cross in the bottom left to discard it and retry with different adjustments.

  2. Schedule is Infeasible:

    • This indicates the scheduler couldn't find a solution without violating your constraints. For example, if you need staff on the weekend but all selected users have contracts that exclude weekends, the scheduler can't fulfil the requirement without breaking the Working Days constraint.

  3. The schedule is Empty:

    • An empty schedule might occur. While technically optimal given your constraints and goals, it usually isn't the desired outcome. It means the scheduler couldn't find any suitable team members for any seats. However, without the Minimum Seat Requirement constraint activated, this result isn't considered infeasible.

  4. Schedule Generation Failed:

    • If you encounter this message, an error has occurred for various potential reasons. Each session has a unique "session id" that you can provide to us for investigation and resolution.
